As most modelers are aware Eduard's Spitfires are probably the best kits in 1/48 scale. 11162 is no different. Excellent fit and detail save the landing gear, the fit of which was not well thought out. Aside from that this model was a pleasure to build. This particular Spitfire represents one of Clive Caldwell's Marks  he flew against the Japanese from Northern Australia starting in Late 1942.  "Killer" Caldwell was a controversial figure but a great leader and a great shot according to Air Marshall Lord Tedder. Group Captain Caldwell died in 1994.
